AREA: The measurement of a flat surface (length times width). Catalan: Àrea Spanish: Area

BASE OF A PRISM OR CYLINDER: Either of the two parallel and congruent faces that define the shape of a prism or cylinder. In a cylinder, the base is a circle.

Catalan: Base d’un prisma o cilidre Spanish: Base de un prisma o cilindro.

BASE OF A PYRAMID OR CONE: The face of a pyramid or cone that is opposite its apex. The base of a cone is a circle.

Catalan: Base d’una piràmide Spanish: Base de una pirámide

CONE: A geometric solid with a circular base, a vertex (apex) not in the plane of the base, and all of the line segments with one endpoint at the apex and the other endpoint on the circumference of the base.

Catalan: Con Spanish: Cono

CUBE: A regular polyhedron with 6 square faces. A cube has 8 vertices and 12 edges.

Catalan: Cub Spanish: Cubo

CYLINDER: A geometric solid with two congruent, parallel circular regions for bases and a curved face formed by all the segments with an endpoint on each circle that are parallel to a segment with endpoints at the centers of the circles. Also called a circular cylinder.

Catalan: Cilindre Spanish: Cilindro

DENSITY: How tightly packed the material in a substance is.

Catalan: Densitat Spanish: Densidad

DIAMETER: A line segment that passes through the center of a circle or sphere and has endpoints on the circle or sphere.

Catalan: Diàmetre Spanish: Diámetro
